West Corporation Positioned in Challengers Quadrant of Unified Communications as a Service Magic Quadrant
West Corporation, a leading provider of technology-driven, outsourced communications services, announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned the company in the challengers quadrant of its “Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), North America.”
West was included in the report for its completeness of vision and ability to execute. The Company offers a complete unified communications platform comprised of network management, enterprise voice, conference and collaboration, messaging and presence, and client applications integration solutions.
In the recently released report, Gartner examines the ways in which “unified communications offers businesses the ability to enhance how individuals, groups and companies interact, perform, and if applied wisely, improve profitability.”
UCaaS includes integrated VoIP (Voice over IP), messaging, conferencing, and presence technologies, according to report authors Daniel O’Connell and Bern Elliot. In a UCaaS environment, the provider owns, manages and hosts the unified communications infrastructure. “The psychological barriers of moving unified communications to the cloud are eroding now that businesses have moved other IT functions to the cloud (such as customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning and data storage),” the report concludes.
