Research shows people prefer one integrated service provider

With more endpoints, passwords and bills complicating today’s technology services, users are looking for a simpler approach – one service provider for all of their needs.

According to a new survey from Accenture, 63 percent  of those who own and use 14 or more consumer electronics devices for their personal and business needs said they would like to have one company support all of their devices, regardless of the communications services (landline, broadband, wireless, cable, satellite) each device uses, as reported by MediaPost.

“Users are starting to show a preference of integrated support for their mobile and technological needs,” Kurt Hogan, senior executive of premium technology services at Accenture, tells Marketing Daily. “There’s a critical mass of consumers that have a desire for that support.”

As consumers buy more devices, the report predicts the demand for integrated support and simplicity will grow.

The same trend is occurring in the enterprise communications industry. Companies have a need for voice service, data and corporate networks, security, collaboration tools and management platforms, leading them to have multiple service provider contracts in place at any given time. Each of these reports has different service levels, stipulations and terms, which can leave the IT department in a sticky position of one or more of them run into issues.

Smoothstone believes in a “one provider, one bill” approach, where all communication services are consolidated on one monthly bill.
